Our Story
“Sook,” which means “happiness” in Sanskrit, is a commonly used term in Thai and Lao languages. The project was initiated seven years ago after the owner visited a Tai Lue Village and observed that traditional wooden houses were increasingly being replaced by brick structures. To support the preservation of this cultural heritage, the owner commenced a conservation-focused initiative aimed at maintaining these historic buildings. ...
Sook Village is designed to serve as a model for sustainable tourism, offering amenities such as an old house museum, guest accommodations, a café, a tea plantation, organic gardens, and future plans for coffee cultivation. The objective is to provide the local community with an example of self-sufficiency. Furthermore, all children involved in the project attend school; some receive direct financial support from the owner, while others benefit from parental employment within Sook Village.
